    Let me take this golden opportunity to welcome everyone to Siaya County which is now the only “Living University in Kenya on Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development.” As the Patron of Smart Start Siaya, Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development Project, it gives me great pleasure to witness our County host this important conference on Early Childhood Development. The fact that we are hosting this conference in Siaya County is a vote of confidence in our efforts on promoting early childhood development related programs within the region.

    I welcome all of you to the 4th National early childhood development stakeholder’s conference 2021. In the last six years, we have held three successful similar conferences in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and County Governments through the Council of Governors with technical and financial support from UNICEF and other ECD stakeholders. This year’s conference is organized by the County Government of Siaya, in collaboration with ECD Network for Kenya, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health.
